How do I place an order?

What are my payment options?

Terms of payment are Net 30 days with established credit. We welcome new accounts with an approved credit application. Download and complete this credit application.pdf, fax it back to our Credit Department at +94 11 2478234 when you place your initial order.

Do you have a minimum order?

We appreciate all orders, so Hemsons International has no minimum order requirement. Occasionally, a supplier may require a minimum and you will be advised of this at the time of your order.

Do you charge sales tax?

Can I pickup my order?

What are your shipping terms?

If a shipping method is not specified, we will determine the most expedient and efficient means of shipment. Appropriate charges (such as freight and insurance), provided by the various carriers used by Hemsons International , will be added to your invoice. These charges are determined (at time of shipment) by product plus packaging weight, overall package dimensions, as well as any other special shipping requirements.

How do I return a product?


Hemsons International places the highest priority on customer satisfaction and believes that our products are of the highest quality on the market. If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason, please let us know how we can make it right. We'll do whatever it takes to fix the problem. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) Please note that there may be some restrictions on certain products such as custom or special order items, expired, refrigerated, open liquids, chemicals or reagents.

What happens if a product I order is damaged in Delivery?

Do you have a re-stocking or return fee?

Product returned more than 30 days after delivery are subject to a restocking fee. Some larger items, chemicals may be subject to restocking fees.

What are your terms and conditions?

Items dispatched, if deemed to be not as per the specifications or of the quality required, must be returned to the place of invoice immediately and in any case not later than 4 weeks from the date of receipt. All returned merchandise must be in unused, resalable condition, and must not be contaminated with hazardous materials. Some products are subject to restocking charge.

Returns require a  authorization from our Stores / Service Departments. To obtain this , please provide us with:

  • our reference number (on the packing slip) or our invoice number

  • your purchase order number

  • Letter with the reason for the return

Requests for returns on chemicals must be made within 30 days of receipt. Returns without prior authorization will be refused. Note: Certain items are not returnable for credit, including:

  • opened liquids, chemicals or reagents

  • refrigerated materials

  • post-expiration dated materials

  • radioactive materials

  • custom- or special-order items

How do I set up an account?

An account number is assigned to you after a period of 3 months based on your regular purchasing cycle.

How do I get a discount?

Many of our items will automatically be discounted based on quantity. Whenever possible, we will try to give you a discount.

How long do you guarantee your prices?

If you receive a written quote from us, the pricing will be honored for 30 days unless otherwise agreed upon.

How can I see what products you offer?

You can view the products we represent from our website or from our respective principals catalog. If you don’t see what you need we will see if we can specially source it for you.
